This was good for an few months, the courtroom will not make you stay long because the car behind me got an yellow ticket for staying too long at the parking lot. My mother wanted to be part of each segment like me next to my defender and the probation officer, get this if you have an mother that an son or daughter is over the age of 18. She is not your legal guardian to be next to because my mother was that person to be next to. She was very confused and uncomfortable around me during the 8th district court, Judge said you can sit outside or stay and find an seat in the courtroom not be next to. Probation officer same thing, if he or she whichever is my probation officer, an mother of legal guardian does NOT go with the person whom called, I don't know if she's tired or confused. Then after that my mother wanted to paid the entire amount today and is like could of wait at the starting date and condensed the payments to 2 months not entire thing in one day. Anyway I did like the courtroom is air conditioner and I also like how defenders are wearing professional clothing for appearances. What's disappointing is my mother got me uncomfortable and other people that has to go to court

I am sharing this based on my direct experience. This is not opinion this is what occurred. I am not originally from the Kalamazoo area. My daughter and I moved here recently. I have an ongoing custody case outside of Kalamazoo, where I was awarded physical custody after her mother had been absent for over a year. When her mother re-entered the picture, I allowed my daughter to spend time with her. Since then, my daughter has missed over 70 days of school and is failing most of her classes. This is documented. The situation escalated the day I was arrested. My daughter refused to get into my car after school. I contacted the police for assistance because I was concerned for her safety. I was told to go home and file a report. As someone unfamiliar with the area, I was concerned about my daughter being alone. I requested assistance locating her, but none was provided at that time. I went to find her myself and located her walking alone. I restrained her to keep her safe until her mother and the police arrived. I was then arrested based on statements from witnesses at a distance claiming I was hitting her. This did not occur. The police report and hospital findings show no evidence o

Good luck finding a parking spot. Now they have bags over the meters and tell you to go on line and pay. I know many people that still do not use credit or debit cards..so will this result in tickets for them? Its just sad. This is a place that really should be accommodating to folks. Every person from all walks of life experience something at one point in their life; every road block should be removed.

They offer “hearings” but only hear what the cops have to say. They do not need anything(proof) from the cops and say they take their word over civilians. They shouldn’t offer hearings if that is the case and we wouldn’t have lost more money wasting our time and missing work. Don’t waste your time trying to fight a ticket. If a cop lies, this court supports it. My take- stay out of Kalamazoo.

Watching the American Juatice System as an innocent man charged with a crime is fascinating and terrifying. I think we have picked an open-minded jury of my peers who are willing to take seriously the undertaking before them. There is nothing left to do but allow the system to work. Plus, there's a good view of the construction projects.
